MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to lead our client's manufacturing operation and drive performance across safety, quality, delivery, people, and continuous improvement. This is a key role within a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment, requiring a visible leader who enjoys being on the production floor, developing teams, and delivering operational excellence.
The role:
- Leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure customer orders are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Driving a strong safety-first culture across all departments and shifts
- Leading, coaching, and developing operational teams to achieve high performance
- Improving operational efficiency through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Managing KPIs, operational planning, and performance improvement projects
- Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales teams
- Supporting employee engagement, succession planning, and talent development
- Maintaining a strong presence across day, night, and weekend shifts as required
- Supporting customer satisfaction by resolving operational or quality issues professionally and effectively
Successful candidate:
You will be a proven operations manager with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, delivering results through strong leadership and operational improvement. You will ideally have:
- 5+ years' experience in an Operations Management/Production Management role within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Experience leading large, multi-shift teams
- Excellent communication, organisational, and people management skills
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
- Strong IT and reporting skills
