MCS Group has a fixed term maternity cover position available for a Project Assistant in Ballymena. This Project Assistant will join a Key Public Body, on-site at their Ballymena location. You will use your existing economic development skill set to help ensure effective service delivery across the Labour Market Partnership programme. This Project Assistant will play a vital part in providing professional advice, support, and guidance while facilitating the delivery of key economic development projects and initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a regional public body, offering hands-on project exposure and the chance to contribute to the strategic priority of growing the local economy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide an effective support service to facilitate the delivery of the Labour Market Partnership programme and other relevant economic development projects.
- Undertake research into best practice and emerging issues to support the development and delivery of key programmes of work.
- Assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of allocated initiatives, ensuring project management processes and standards are adhered to.
- Collate performance and financial data, maintaining accurate records for inspection by internal audit and external funders.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and work with the Marketing and Communications team to plan activity and promote project engagement.
Essential Criteria
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification/experience requirements:
- A minimum of a third level qualification plus one year's experience in the areas listed below.
- OR A minimum of three years' experience in the areas listed below.
The required experience must include personal and specific examples of:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of initiatives for Economic Development projects.
- Working with partners to develop effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Supporting and assisting in financial management, project monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience in research, including the gathering and collating of statistical information.
Additionally, applicants must have:
- A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
What's on Offer
- Salary: £39,152 (pro rata £22.14/h).
- Hours: 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday (some evening/weekend work may be required).
- Duration: Fixed Term (maternity cover) until July 2026.
- Location: Based in Ballymena in wheelchair accessible premises.
