This is an excellent opportunity for an estates or facilities professional to gain broad exposure across building maintenance, contractor management, planned and reactive works, and asset management, while supporting the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused estates service.
The Role:
- Support the delivery of estates services across the borough, ensuring properties are safe, modern, efficient, and well maintained.
- Manage operational teams and external contractors across maintenance, facilities, and building services.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, and wider property asset management.
- Contribute to estates planning, refurbishment programmes, and service improvement initiatives.
- Manage resources effectively in line with financial regulations, policies, and contractual requirements.
- Provide technical advice, performance data, and specialist support to colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Deputise for senior officers and participate in out-of-hours standby and emergency call-out arrangements as required.
The Person
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Essential: Degree (or Level 6 equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Construction, Building Surveying, or related discipline; Experience in building construction, including areas such as construction methods, planned preventative maintenance, health & safety in facilities, or contract management. Experience supervising staff and/or contractors. Understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to facilities management. Full driving licence (or access to suitable transport where applicable).
- Desirable: Additional qualifications in facilities management or related field.
Salary: £39-40,000 annual equivalent
Fantastic annual leave allowance, 35 days total. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Onsite parking.
