Accounts Technician / PQ Accountant - Belfast

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a well established Practice based in Belfast , looking to recruit for an Accounts Technician / PQ Accountant on a full time, permanent basis.

A forward-thinking Belfast-based accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts Technician / PQ Accountant to join their team.

The role will be more compliance-focused, covering statutory accounts preparation, VAT and tax compliance, with some exposure to management accounts and client interaction.

With a strong focus on personalised advice, real time reporting and cloud technology, the firm offers a modern approach to accountancy with a great client focused culture.

Job Duties of the Accounts Technician / PQ Accountant Include

  • Support a portfolio of clients with day to day accounts and tax compliance.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and assist with management accounts.
  • Assist with personal and corporate tax returns and general tax compliance.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
  • Support senior team members with client work and deadlines.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other compliance requirements.
  • Work as part of the team while developing your technical accounting and tax skills.

What You Need to be the Successful Accounts Technician / PQ Accountant?

  • ATI Qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified, finalist or QBE with relevant practice experience.
  • Experience within a small to mid-tier accountancy practice preferred.
  • Strong background in accounts preparation and compliance, with an interest in developing tax knowledge.
  • Experience with VAT and personal/corporate tax compliance desirable.
  • Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
  • Organised, reliable and keen to develop within a modern, client-focused practice.
