Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Dungannon | Full-Time | Competitive Salary DOE
41.5 Hours per Week | Permanent

MCS Group are pleased to be recruiting exclusively on behalf of our client, a leading global manufacturer of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Dungannon area.

With over 400 employees across global sites, this innovative and well-established business is committed to delivering high-quality, bespoke engineering solutions to the aviation sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced design professional to take a key role in the development of world-class products used by international airlines and airport service providers.

The Role:

  • Design and develop bespoke GSE products including vehicles, lifts, and related metal components
  • Produce high-quality 3D models, technical drawings, cut lists and documentation
  • Carry out structural and stress calculations, tolerance assessments, and select materials
  • Prepare technical documentation including design reports and specifications
  • Liaise with production teams to support manufacturing and resolve design issues
  • Drive improvements to existing designs and support continuous development
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards and Health & Safety procedures

What We\'re Looking For:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Minimum of 5 years\' experience in mechanical design within a metal fabrication environment
  • Strong CAD skills - ideally SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Excellent technical drawing skills
  • Strong IT and communication skills
  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise and problem solve under pressure
  • Experience with vehicle design, screeners, crushers, or trailers
  • Knowledge of type approval, hydraulics and electrics
