MCS Group is proud to be partnering with a leading organisation that’s powering Northern Ireland’s transition to a low‑carbon future to recruit a Power System Planning Engineer.

As a Power System Planning Engineer, you will join a team at the heart of the energy transition.

You will play a key role in analysing and shaping how the transmission grid evolves to meet future demands, helping to decarbonise the energy system while ensuring a safe, secure, and reliable supply.

As a Power System Planning Engineer, you will

  • Carry out power system studies /analysis
  • Develop and assess reinforcement and connection options for the grid
  • Customer connection assessments
  • Engage and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce clear, high-quality technical reports

The successful candidate will have

  • Degree in electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent, with at least 2 years relevant engineering or industry experience.
  • A strong interest in supporting the transition to a net zero power system.
  • Understanding of power system analysis and a desire to further develop technical expertise.
