HR Business Partner - County Armagh - 12 month FTC

MCS Group is delighted to partner with a fast-paced, multi-site organisation who are going through a phase of transformation and change and looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join their team, in this full-time position.

The role

This is a varied, hands-on role within a fast-paced, multi-site organisation.

You will act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders and managers, providing expert HR guidance while supporting employee relations, trade union engagement and organisational change across operations in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.

The main responsibilities

  • Lead trade union engagement and negotiations, including annual pay talks, policy consultations and reviews of union agreements.
  • Negotiate, communicate and implement changes to terms and conditions of employment.
  • Manage complex and sensitive employee relations cases, providing pragmatic, legally informed advice.
  • Lead collective and individual consultation processes connected with organisational change.
  • Monitor forthcoming employment legislation and prepare the organisation for its implementation.
  • Coach and advise managers on effective people management and sound decision-making.
  • Support general HR activities, including recruitment, absence management, learning and development, and policy development and review.
  • Build effective relationships with senior leaders, managers, employees and trade union representatives.
  • Help ensure a consistent and commercially focused HR approach across multiple sites and jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate

  • Significant experience leading trade union engagement and negotiations.
  • Experience of annual pay negotiations, collective consultation and reviewing union agreements.
  • A strong track record of managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Experience of negotiating and implementing changes to employment terms and conditions.
  • Experience leading organisational change and consultation processes.
  • Working knowledge of employment legislation across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.
  • Broad generalist HR experience, including recruitment, absence management, learning and development, and policy reviews.
