MCS Group are delighted to be working exclusively with our client on an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a Building and Fit Out Contractor working on local projects across NI. This role offers hands-on involvement across all aspects of the Quantity Surveying function, providing valuable experience and exposure to a diverse portfolio of local projects.
The Role
We are partnering with a Building and Fit Out Contractor based in Magherafelt who are seeking a driven Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to join a company renowned for delivering high-quality building solutions across Northern Ireland. You will play a key role within the commercial team, gaining comprehensive exposure to all stages of the project life cycle. The position offers the chance to work directly with clients, contribute to the successful delivery of projects, and further develop your technical and commercial knowledge across a wide variety of projects.
You will:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender pricing for fit-out and building projects from initial enquiry through to completion
- Manage project costs, valuations, and variations to ensure works are delivered within agreed budgets and profitability targets
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to support project delivery, commercial agreements, and cost control
- Assist with project planning, coordination, and programme management to support successful on-site delivery
- Monitor financial performance, prepare cost reports, and support final accounts and project close-out

The Ideal Candidate:
- Third level degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
- The ability to plan, organise, prioritise and work to meet deadlines through using your own initiative
- Full valid driving licence
