ER Advisor – Various locations – Immediate start

MCS Group is delighted to partner with an organisation as they look to add an HR Generalist to their team on initially a 6 month FTC. This role will have a particular focus on employee relations.

The role:

As the ER Advisor, you\’ll be the first point of contact for complex employee relations matters, supporting managers and employees to achieve fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes. You\’ll work closely with trade unions and employee representatives, ensuring collaborative and constructive relationships

The main responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on complex ER issues including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, and appeals.
  • Lead and advise on formal casework, ensuring processes are compliant and best practice is applied.
  • Support managers in early intervention, mediation, and conflict resolution to drive positive outcomes.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with trade union representatives.
  • Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, internal policies, and collective agreements.

The ideal candidate:

  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 minimum).
  • Proven experience managing complex ER casework in a unionised environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of NI employment law and best practice.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
