Electrical Design & Automation Engineer
MCS Group is proud to be working with an innovative manufacturing company based in Dungannon to recruit an Electrical Design and Automation Engineer. You will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge electrical systems, PLC programming, and HMI interfaces.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and analyse electrical circuit designs to meet product specifications.
- Create detailed schematics and documentation for electrical systems.
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC programs for automation systems.
- Optimise existing PLC code for performance and efficiency.
- Create and implement user-friendly HMI interfaces for machine control and monitoring.
- Ensure HMI designs are intuitive and meet user requirements.
- Manage time lines effectively to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Oversee products from concept through commissioning and support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs and troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct tests and validations to ensure electrical systems meet functionality and safety requirements.
- Document test results and recommend improvements.
- Travel to various locations for on-site maintenance and commissioning of systems.
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in electrical design tools
- Experience in PLC programming (e.g. Allen Bradley, TIA Portal).
- Experience in HMI development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
