MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Contracts Surveyor - Fit Out for our client, a leading construction contractor delivering high-quality projects across the UK and Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to manage the surveying and commercial aspects of major fit-out projects, supporting cost control, profitability and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and surveying activities across allocated fit-out projects.
  • Oversee subcontract procurement, work packages, valuations and payments.
  • Prepare cost appraisals, commercial reports and project valuations.
  • Manage variations, dayworks and project cost control.
  • Review contract documentation and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with Estimating, Purchasing, Contracts Managers and site teams.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the surveying team.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality, environmental and health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience within Quantity Surveying, Contracts Surveying or Commercial Management.
  • Experience managing subcontract packages and commercial activities on construction or fit-out projects.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring surveyors or commercial team members.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, cost control, valuations, variations and contract administration.
  • Experience within a construction or fit-out contractor is highly desirable.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience with NEC contracts is advantageous.
  • CSR/CSCS card and full UK driving licence required.
  • Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required.
