A leading Managed Services and Cyber Security provider is looking to add an experienced Network Security Engineer to its growing team. Working within a specialist Network Security function, you will provide 3rd Line support across a varied customer base, resolving complex firewall and security incidents while working alongside experienced Security Architects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong security background who enjoys troubleshooting, customer interaction and working with enterprise technologies.
Location: Belfast or Glasgow | Hybrid
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 3rd Line technical support for network security incidents
- Configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise firewall solutions
- Supporting Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, F5 and Juniper technologies
- Performing firewall rule reviews, policy optimisation and security hardening
- Troubleshooting VPN connectivity (IPSec & SSL VPN)
- Investigating and resolving complex network and security issues
- Working directly with customers to deliver technical solutions
- Producing technical documentation and supporting change management
- Collaborating with Security Architects on customer projects when required
Requirements:
- Experience working within a Network Security or Infrastructure Security role, ideally within an MSP or customer‑facing environment
- Hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Fortinet, Check Point, F5, Juniper SRX
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, NAT, and VPN technologies (IPSec & SSL)
- Firewall troubleshooting and policy management skills
- Knowledge of Network Security best practices
- Security certifications such as PCNSE, NSE4/7, CCSA/CCSE or Security+ are beneficial but not essential
