MCS Group is recruiting for two Future Power Market Managers to help shape how electricity markets evolve for a low-carbon future. These are high-impact leadership roles at the centre of strategic market programmes, influencing how energy is designed, delivered and traded across the all-island system.
You’ll work with regulators, governments, industry partners and internal teams to design and deliver market solutions that support decarbonisation, system security and consumer value. One role will focus more on Market Analysis and the other on Market Development; both require strong leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to deliver complex programmes in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities- Lead and deliver future electricity market initiatives
- Shape market design to support the transition to low-carbon energy
- Deliver high-quality analysis, modelling and insight to inform decisions
- Support integration of emerging technologies (e.g. offshore wind, storage, hydro generation)
- Manage complex programmes, ensuring delivery against milestones and targets
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across government, regulators and industry
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team
- Relevant third-level qualification with typically 8+ years’ experience in an analytical, commercial or project environment within the energy sector
- Proven experience leading teams, managing resources and delivering complex outcomes
- Strong understanding of power market design and operation
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects/programmes in a regulated environment
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
- Experience mentoring and developing others
- Experience with the Single Electricity Market (SEM) or European power systems
- Knowledge of transmission, balancing markets and regulatory frameworks
- Experience in market analysis, policy or project pipeline development
- Understanding of decarbonisation and renewable energy policies
