MCS Group are working with a well-established engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their in-house technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is mid to senior level to take a hands-on design role within a growing business, contributing to complex building services projects while supporting the development of junior engineers within the wider team.
The Role
We are partnering with a contractor delivering projects across the UK and Ireland who are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to strengthen their internal design capability. Reporting into the Head of Technical, you will be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of electrical building services designs, working closely with mechanical counterparts, external consultants, and operational teams. This role would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys technical ownership, problem-solving, and influencing design outcomes, while also playing a mentoring role for more junior level engineers.
You will:
- Develop and manage electrical building services designs from concept through to construction
- Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and site teams to deliver compliant, buildable solutions
- Review and technically assess consultant designs, specifications, and models
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and graduate engineers
