We're recruiting on behalf of Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to add an Assistant Psychologist within their Cystic Fibrosis Service.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting people living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and their families, helping them manage the emotional and psychological challenges that accompany a chronic health condition. You'll work under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.
The role:
Conduct psychological assessments using standardised measures, interviews, and observations to inform formulation and care planning for adults with Cystic Fibrosis.
Support the delivery of individual and group-based psychological interventions to service users, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, under supervision.
Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and contribute to the management of Trust data systems.
Contribute to ongoing research, audits, and service evaluations, particularly projects aimed at enhancing psychological support within chronic illness care.
Uphold Health & Safety and infection control standards during clinical work, maintaining professional and sensitive conduct in emotionally challenging situations.
Engage fully in supervision, training, and continuous professional development to enhance service delivery within a specialist medical context.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues across respiratory, medical, and allied health teams to promote integrated, holistic patient care.
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
- Psychology graduate- minimum of 2nd class hons or higher.
- Previous experience as an assistant psychologist or similar post.
Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
Experience of conducting neuropsychological/ psychometric assessments (e.g. WAIS-IV) under supervision.
