Applications / Support Engineer
Belfast or Linlithgow | £40,000-£60,000 DOE | Hybrid
MCS Group is working with an established technology business to recruit an Applications / Support Engineer to support its global customer base.
The company develops specialist products used to test and validate complex communication networks. This opportunity would suit someone with a strong networking foundation who enjoys investigating technical problems, working with customers and developing expertise in specialist technology.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support to customers, sales teams and partners.
- Reproducing issues, investigating root causes and working with development teams to resolve faults.
- Understanding customer networks, applications and testing requirements.
- Delivering customer training, demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Creating troubleshooting guides, knowledge articles and training materials.
- Feeding customer requirements and technical recommendations into product development.
- Supporting occasional international customer visits and industry events.
What you'll bring
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, Ethernet, packet communications and network architectures.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to explain technical information clearly to different audiences.
- A willingness to learn new products and technologies.
- A relevant technical degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in technical support, applications engineering, systems engineering or test engineering would be beneficial. Python scripting, routing and switching, network performance testing or network emulation would also be useful.
