Senior Construction Finance Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Construction Finance Manager to join our growing team.

This is a key leadership position responsible for providing financial oversight across multiple construction projects, ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and strategic commercial support.

Working closely with senior management, project directors, and operational teams, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, managing risk, and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial aspects of construction projects from tender through to completion.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost to complete, retentions and cash flow.
  • Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting and performance analysis.
  • Partner with project managers to improve profitability and cost control.
  • Oversee contract valuations, cost reporting, and financial risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members.
  • Direct the day-to-day finance function for regional projects, overseeing the production of monthly management accounts, bank reconciliations, and P&L variances
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
  • Sole responsibility overseeing and submitting monthly Construction Industry Scheme CIS) returns and domestic reverse charge vat.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following expertise

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Extensive experience will be considered.
  • Significant senior-level finance experience within the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting large-scale construction projects.
  • Excellent financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and project accounting.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of finance experience preferably within construction, and have strong working knowledge of CIS and VAT
  • Extensive hands-on experience using Sage 50, Microsoft Excel, Word etc
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage workloads independently
  • Working Hours: 40 hours
