The role will support the commercial management of a contractor-led residential project, with responsibilities spanning cost, procurement, subcontractor and commercial controls.
Role summary The Quantity Surveyor will contribute to the financial and commercial management of the project from a contractor's perspective.
The role requires practical experience across residential new build, residential design and interior projects, together with the ability to monitor costs, manage change and provide accurate commercial information.
The successful candidate will work in a structured, detail-focused way and communicate clearly with project teams, subcontractors and other commercial stakeholders.
Key experience required Residential apartment and high-rise new build experience, with an understanding of the cost and delivery considerations involved in finishing apartment blocks.
Interior projects, covering the commercial management of finishes, trades, materials and associated subcontract packages.
Qualifications and experience Minimum qualification: HND in Quantity Surveying.
Minimum professional experience: 5+ years working with a contractor.
Relevant project background: experience in residential new build, high rise and apartment blocks.
Core responsibilities Cost control: monitor project costs, commitments and expenditure against agreed budgets.
Valuations: prepare, review and agree valuations for work completed, including subcontractor valuations where required.
Variations: identify, assess, price and manage changes to the works, maintaining appropriate records and approvals.
Procurement: support the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers and work packages in line with the project requirements.
Subcontractor management: administer commercial arrangements, review progress and help resolve commercial queries.
Forecasting: maintain cost forecasts, assess financial risks and identify potential impacts on the outturn position.
Commercial reporting: produce clear reports and provide timely commercial information to support project decision-making.
