We're currently seeking a Restaurant Manager at our hub in Central Manchester. This role will be working in conjunction with the Chef Manager. Universal Square is a busy multi-tenant commercial building near Manchester Piccadilly Station. We are looking for a well-organised and experienced Restaurant Manager to manage the day-to-day running of our restaurant. This is a key role in the smooth running of the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in menus based on feedback from customers.
  • Aware of food preparation and safety, ensuring timely completion of relevant documentation, and being the named responsible person for compliance and reporting.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and always provide a knowledgeable service, in particular regarding allergens and special dietary requirements.
  • Set up, operate, and update an electronic point of sales till system, drawing down sales reports when necessary.
  • Involved in stock and menu to have a positive impact on sales, margin and profit.
  • Lead in the routine deep cleaning of the restaurant floor, storage, service and dining areas, including heavy and light equipment and machinery, crockery, and cutlery, in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
  • Follow systems and procedures for an efficient, organised kitchen and front of house service.
  • Working with the chef manager on stock control and ordering to ensure sufficient stock, manage the equipment and food budgets, and choose suppliers according to cost effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Manage staff and volunteers, including training, personal and professional development.
  • Manage staffing rotas and deploy staff to roles that maximise their skills.
  • Maintain a quality counter merchandise offer, menus and marketing at sales points, conduct regular reviews, identify and implement strategies for improvements of the restaurant floor.

Requirements:

  • Previous knowledge of food handling and hygiene.
  • Previous restaurant, café or catering management experience.
  • Be friendly, confident and have a positive 'Can-do' attitude.
  • Be hands-on and thrive on working as part of a team.
  • Be passionate about great quality food and fantastic customer service.
  • Have great organisational skills.
  • Have some skills in computer literacy and meeting financial targets.
  • H&S and Food Safety qualifications.
