Responsibilities

  • Carrying out routine maintenance works and reactive repairs across a range of residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
  • Undertaking tapering and jointing, wider carpentry, minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
  • Inspecting and maintaining building systems and equipment to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
  • Responding to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, installing, repairing, and replacing fixtures and appliances where required.
  • Ensuring that all working areas are kept clean, safe, and well‑organised.
  • Communicating effectively with property managers, colleagues, and tenants as necessary.
  • Coordinating with other team members to ensure work is completed smoothly and efficiently.
  • Maintaining clear logs of maintenance and repair activities undertaken.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a maintenance, handyman, or similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of general repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and good attention to detail.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full driving licence and reliable transport.
  • Willingness to travel to sites across Manchester and the surrounding area.
  • Flexibility to undertake occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Cladding experience desirable; candidates must have their own tools.

MCR Property Group offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays, increasing by one additional day for each completed year of service up to a maximum of 25 days, and a birthday off.
