Role Overview
Flow Student is not a traditional security environment. Our Night Security & Resident Support Officers are visible, approachable and proactive members of the site team. This role combines licensed security responsibilities with a nurturing, resident-focused approach to ensure our buildings remain safe, welcoming and well managed throughout the night. This is not static guarding. This is active building management, resident reassurance and emergency response. You will act as part of two individuals with site presence overnight supporting residents, responding to incidents, managing fire activations, assisting with lockouts and ensuring the building operates safely and smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Security & Safety Management
- Provide a visible and professional security presence throughout the building
- Conduct internal and external patrols at regular intervals
- Monitor CCTV systems and access control systems
- Manage visitor access and ensure compliance with guest policies
- Respond to anti-social behaviour in line with company procedures
- Carry out room lockout assistance in accordance with site policy
- Ensure all entry points are secure during overnight hours
- Maintain accurate incident and patrol logs
- Emergency Response
- Act as first responder to fire alarm activations
- Investigate alarm triggers and liaise with emergency services where required
- Follow fire evacuation procedures and ensure resident safety
- Respond to medical emergencies (First Aid trained)
- Escalate serious incidents to senior management appropriately
- Complete detailed incident reports following any event
- Night Porter / Building Support Duties
- Support the building’s overnight operational needs
- Assist residents with welfare concerns and minor issues
- Provide front desk support where required
- Conduct welfare checks where appropriate
- Report maintenance issues identified during patrols
- Support minor facilities-related tasks where safe and appropriate
- Resident Support & Wellbeing
- Build positive, professional relationships with residents
- Provide reassurance and support during difficult or stressful situations
- Handle noise complaints and disputes calmly and fairly
- Promote a respectful and inclusive living environment

- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations
- Maintain clear documentation of all incidents
- Complete handover reports for daytime management
- Adhere to ANUK and internal compliance standards
- Participate in ongoing training and refresher courses
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard Licence
- Valid Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
- Experience in security, concierge, night porter or similar role
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently overnight
- Customer-service focused approach
