MCR Property Group (‘MCR') is a multi-billion-pound property investment and development company operating across a diverse range of real estate sectors; including commercial, residential, student accommodation, offices, hotels, industrial, and retail. Since 1989, MCR has successfully acquired, developed, and managed over £6 billion of property and currently manages a portfolio of over 5,500 residential units, 9,000 student beds, 5 hotels, and more than 3,500,000 square feet of commercial assets across the UK. MCR has raised a revolving credit facility to acquire over £1 billion of assets over the next year and is seeking an experienced real estate investment and development Acquisitions Manager to join the Manchester acquisitions team.

The successful candidate will have strong relationships with commercial real estate agents/brokers and receivers, as well as the ability to independently source investment opportunities across all property sectors throughout the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently source and assess investment & development opportunities across the PBSA, and residential sectors (BTR, PRS, BTL Portfolios, PD conversions), both on and off market.
  • Undertake development appraisals, valuations and cash flow analysis for value-add investments and development sites of varying scale and complexity.
  • Identify value creation opportunities while assessing and mitigating potential risks.
  • Conduct market research, property-level, technical, and legal due diligence.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with landowners, developers and agents.
  • Review, understand and assist in the negotiation of legal agreements through to completion.
  • Coordinate and manage input from professional consultants and advisors.
  • Work closely with internal planning, development, asset management, sales, and lettings teams.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the real estate industry, within an acquisitions/investment or development position.
  • Excel proficiency, with demonstrable experience building real estate cash flow models.
  • Strong market knowledge of the residential sector, including Build-to-Rent, PRS, BTL, and permitted development conversions.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate investment risk.
  • Proven ability to originate and progress transactions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume acquisitions environment.

Candidate Preferences:

  • RICS qualified.
  • Previous experience in commercial real estate agency/brokerage.
  • Proven track record of successful acquisitions or sales across the residential and student real estate sectors (residential, PBSA, serviced apartments, etc.).
  • Knowledge and prior experience with office-to-residential conversions.
