Parham Student Village in Canterbury is seeking a confident and personable Customer Service Assistant to play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional student living experience. This is a front-line position at the heart of the village, where professionalism, organisation and genuine care for residents combine to create a safe, vibrant and welcoming community.
As the first point of contact for students, guarantors, visitors and internal teams, you will represent the village every day. The successful candidate will ensure that all enquiries, requests and concerns are handled efficiently and professionally, building strong relationships that enhance student satisfaction and encourage re-bookings. You will also be trusted to identify and sensitively escalate any welfare or safeguarding concerns, helping to maintain a secure and supportive living environment.
This role carries significant responsibility across administration and system management. You will maintain accurate student records within the rental management system, ensure all documentation and correspondence is handled correctly, and uphold GDPR compliance at all times. You will support student arrivals and departures, assist with inspections, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the site, including wider operational duties such as parking management, organising postal deliveries and assisting with basic on-site tasks when required.
A key element of the role involves supporting rent and arrears management. You will monitor rent accounts, assist with debt chasing processes and communicate professionally with guarantors where necessary. Maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to cashflow and arrears reduction targets will form an important part of your remit, requiring both attention to detail and confidence in handling sensitive conversations.
Beyond operational responsibilities, you will actively contribute to building a strong and engaged student community. You will support the delivery of residential life events and activities, promote participation, gather feedback and maintain a visible and approachable presence on-site. You will also help create and uphold a positive social media presence that reflects the values and culture of FlowStudent, strengthening the village's identity and sense of belonging.
Health, safety and compliance are central to this position. You will support established processes, report hazards and incidents promptly, and assist with audits and inspections to ensure the highest operational standards are maintained.
The ideal candidate will bring previous customer service experience, strong administrative and IT skills, and excellent communication abilities. You will be confident managing sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. Experience within purpose-built student accommodation, residential property or rent and arrears management would be advantageous, as would prior involvement in student engagement or community initiatives.
Success in this role will be measured through high levels of student satisfaction, accurate system management, effective arrears reduction and the creation of a positive, engaged residential community. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic student living environment where your contribution will be visible every day and where you will directly influence the experience of every resident. If you are organised, proactive and genuinely passionate about delivering outstanding service, we would be delighted to hear from you.
