MCR Property Group is currently seeking a Construction Maintenance Operative to join our team in the South East to cover a corridor around Luton, Aylesbury and surrounding areas. Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance works and reactive repairs across a range of residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Undertake tapering and jointing and wider carpentry, minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC repairs.
- Inspect and maintain building systems and equipment to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, install, repair and replace fixtures and appliances where required.
- Ensure all working areas are kept clean, safe and well organised.
- Communicate with property managers, colleagues and tenants, collaborate with team members to ensure smooth completion of work.
- Maintain clear logs of maintenance and repair activities.
Qualifications and skills
- Proven experience in a maintenance, handyman or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of general repair and maintenance tasks.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC systems is essential.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full driving licence and reliable transport (required).
- Willingness to travel to sites across the area; occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
- Cladding experience desirable; candidates must have their own tools.
