We\’re currently seeking a Assistant Finance Manager to join our team in Manchester and support the Construction Finance Manager. MCR Property Group is a leading independent real estate investment and development company, operating nationally with offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow.
Our primary focus lies in developing new build and conversion residential and industrial projects and managing a diverse portfolio covering every asset class, which includes around 7,500 residential plots and commercial/industrial assets exceeding Β£2 billion in value.

Responsibilities
- Preparation of year end accounts up to trial balance and supporting reports
- Sole preparation of monthly management accounts, with overhead analysis and reporting
- Regular balance sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany accounting and reconciliation, along with posting monthly PAYE journals
- Maintaining fixed asset register
- Cost tracking and providing variable analysis on a monthly basis
- Overseeing the VAT and CIS returns and submissions, carried out by our finance assistant and purchase ledger clerk
- Close monitoring and assistance with query and supplier resolutions
- Check and finalise monthly payment run
- Overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions
- Carry out monthly departmental audits and reviews
- Supporting the finance manager and wider team as required
Requirements
- Experience in construction industry and an understanding of CIS preferred but not essential for the right candidate
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt your messaging for different audiences
- A basic understanding of the structure and purpose of financial reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to support and coordinate multiple projects
- A strong sense of ownership, with the ability to independently manage tasks and take the lead on briefs when required.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commercial mindset would be advantageous
