Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate HGV vehicles in accordance with road traffic laws, company policies and health & safety regulations.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects or maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure loads are transported securely and safely.
- Maintain accurate records, including driver logs, defect reports and delivery or work documentation.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet operational schedules and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues and members of the public when required.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service while representing the company.
- Adhere to working‑time regulations and tachograph requirements.
- Keep vehicles clean and in good working order.
Essential Criteria
- Valid Category C (Class 2) driver licence with CPC and Digi Card in date.
- Ability to maintain high level of service in all weather conditions.
- Flexible approach to hours of work.
- Familiarity with operating commercial driving vehicles is required.
- Following all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Conducting daily pre‑start inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and report any maintenance issues.
- Must be able and willing to perform routine maintenance on the vehicle.
- Adhering to company policies and procedures regarding transportation, safety and delivery protocol.
- Health and safety awareness, ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities that may be required.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Experience in operating a commercial vehicle such as Jetvac or tanker.
- Previous experience as a sweeper.
- Familiarity with operating commercial driving vehicles is required.
