Overall objectives
We seek to appoint a Gully Tanker Driver/Boom Arm Operator to join our busy and expanding team within McQuillan Outdoor. This role will require someone with a 'can do' attitude, a commercial approach and demonstrable attention to detail. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and must be hardworking, reliable, and possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Driving the tanker vehicle and operating a vacuum hose and jetting equipment to clear roadside drains.
- Ensuring drains remain unblocked.
- Physically demanding work due to frequent lifting of drain covers.
- Working in all weather conditions (suitable PPE to be provided by the employer).
Essential Criteria:
- Valid Class 2 driver license with CPC and Digi Card in date.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Following all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Conducting daily pre-start inspections of the vehicle.
- Maintaining accurate records of work carried out.
- Adhering to the Company’s policies and procedures regarding transportation, safety, and delivery protocols.
- Availability for early morning starts based on operational needs.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in operating a commercial vehicle such as Jetvac or tanker.
- CSR card in date.
- Experience in traffic management procedures.
- Experience in high pressure water jetting, manual handling, first aid and reversing assistant/banksman duties.
