Location: McQuillan Environmental, Material Recycling Facility, Budore
Responsible to: MRF Foreman
Contract type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Competitive
Working hours: Core working hours are: 08:00 to 17:00. Weekend shifts will also be required on a monthly rotational basis. Overtime can be required depending on the operational needs of the business.
Overall objectives: We seek to appoint a General Operative to join our busy and expanding team within McQuillan Environmental at our Material Recycling Facility in Budore. The successful candidate will report to the MRF Foreman and must be hardworking, reliable, and possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills. In return you will be awarded a competitive salary, variety within your role, the ability to build upon your existing experience within the profession and the opportunity to work within a friendly and supportive team.
Key responsibilities:
- Operation of on-site baler and processing plant
- Operation of non-road vehicle i.e. counterbalance forklift, telescopic forklift and 360 excavator
- Carrying out prestart checks and preventative maintenance on all fixed and mobile plant
- Quality control on outgoing commodities
- Inspections of incoming loads
- Comply with site health and safety rules and procedures
- Wear appropriate PPE
- Housekeeping
- Any other reasonable requests from management
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working with balers
- A full clean driving licence
- Must have valid licence and experience in one of the following: counterbalance forklift, telescopic forklift or 360 excavator
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as a part of a team and follow the given instructions
- Good time keeper
- Good knowledge of preventative maintenance
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience working in a waste/recycling environment
- Telescopic forklift license
