Job description: Position: Coating Plant Operator/ Quarry Operative Location: McQuillan Quarries, Dromore Responsible to: Quarry Manager Contract type: Full-time, permanent Salary: Competitive Working hours: 39 hours per week as well as overtime during mornings, evenings and weekends (weekends on a rota basis), which is a requirement for the role. The successful candidate will report to Quarry Manager and must be hardworking, reliable, and possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities: Operate machinery safely and efficiently, in line with licences and quality standards. Monitor plant controls, production rates, material levels and the feeding and mixing of aggregates, bitumen and other materials Carry out routine inspections, cleaning, basic maintenance and repairs of plant, machinery and equipment where trained and authorised Identify and promptly report faults, defects, hazards or abnormal operating conditions Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required worksheets on time Coordinate production with site management, weighbridge staff, laboratory/quality personnel, drivers and customers as required Maintain good housekeeping and comply with all Companys health and safety policies, risk assessments, PPE requirements, site rules and safe systems of work Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by Management Essential Criteria: Previous experience in manufacturing, quarrying, construction, asphalt or a similar environment Experience operating plant, machinery or production equipment Good understanding of health and safety requirements Good spoken and written English, with the ability to follow instructions Good communication and attention to detail Reliable, flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to undertake training and develop skills Desirable criteria: Previous experience in operating heavy equipment such as front-loading shovels, excavators and telehandlers etc. Additional training to be provided as necessary if required.
