This is an on-site, full-time role for a General Manager based in the London Area. There will be some flexibility around working remotely if this is required but there will be an ongoing need to be largely site-based due to the nature of the role.
The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of McQueens Flowers in the UK, line managing a small team plus outsourced providers. This is a key role in ensuring that the team is focused on delivering and maintaining high standards of work in a consistent way, ensuring that processes and resources are in place to support this.
This is a great opportunity to create and drive a strong culture as well as develop and implement fresh ideas for the running of the UK operation.
Key responsibilities include:- Team management
- Reviewing and managing budgets in collaboration with Finance
- Representing the company externally
- Maintaining a good awareness of the competitive market landscape
- Acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors and company operations
- Strong leadership and management skills, including team development, communicating and monitoring performance standards and promoting a collaborative work environment
- Strategic thinking and planning experience, with a proven ability to manage budgets and drive business growth
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, partners, and stakeholders effectively
- Operational and logistical expertise in managing workflows, addressing challenges, and ensuring seamless delivery of work
- Knowledge or experience in the floral design, luxury events, or hospitality industries is highly beneficial
- Proficiency in project management and use of business analytics to make data-driven decisions
- Passion for creativity, design, and delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred
