Driver Recruitment Co-ordinator – Salary: £15.41 per hour. Department: Human Resources / Recruitment Team. Reports To: Recruitment Manager. Location: Edinburgh (Loanhead Depot). Hours per week: 15. Employment Type: Part-time permanent (working 5 hours across any 3 days Mon – Thurs).

The Role
The Driver Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for supporting the recruitment process for multi drop night shift delivery drivers, ensuring the timely hiring of compliant, and safety-conscious candidates. This role involves the placement of adverts, sourcing, screening, scheduling and compliance checking in line with company policies and procedures. It may also involve assisting with on site new driver induction sessions as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the recruitment process for delivery driver roles.
- Advertise driver vacancies across multiple platforms including job boards, social media, and other channels.
- Screen applications and conduct initial telephone interviews to assess attitude, experience, right to work and license validity.
- Schedule interviews and driving assessments with candidates.
- Hold interviews face to face at the Depot
- Conduct short driving assessment with candidates in one of the company delivery vehicles
- Verify driving licenses, right-to-work documentation, and other compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate candidate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and ensure GDPR compliance.
- Liaise with wider HR Team for onboarding purposes as well as the Fleet Team, and Logistics Operations to ensure smooth onboarding and start dates.
- Assist with driver retention initiatives and monitor early attrition trends.
- Provide recruitment reports and updates to management as required.
Experience
- 1-3 years of recruitment experience, ideally within transport, logistics, or warehousing sectors however not essential.
- Familiarity with driver compliance requirements (DVLA checks, etc.) is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of UK employment law and driver-specific regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and recruitment systems (ATS, HRIS).
