Arch Insurance is searching for a senior project manager to support the Strategic Portfolio Management initiatives. In this position, you will be working across various departments (underwriting, operations, claims, IT, Finance) of a dynamic company, where you will partner with a wide range of business stakeholders to support transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of operating as a senior project manager. The position has no direct line management but will be required to manage project teams across multiple disciplines to ensure successful delivery.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Successfully lead the execution of strategic, large/medium scale, multi-team initiatives across Arch International.
  • Coordinate with initiative leadership (Business Sponsor and Initiative Owner) and delivery team (Analytics Owner, Technology Owner, and Process Excellence Owner) to ensure that business and technical requirements translate the business vision and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) into execution milestones and deliverables.
  • Support monitoring and reporting of initiative roadmap, OKRs, and delivery metrics; adapt the scope, timeline, and costs to ensure that initiative adheres to requirements.
  • Identify risks, actions, issues, and dependencies (RAID); maintain initiative RAID log, in addition to other initiative artefacts.
  • Provide Business Analyst expertise as required.
  • Manage and escalate potential risks, dependencies, and delays to initiatives.
  • Ensure that initiative deliverables meet the desired quality standards.
  • Communicate progress to key stakeholders at the initiative level.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, business leads (Finance, Operations, Underwriting, CDO, Transformation, and function leads (e.g. IT) and share best practices across the organisation.

Change Management:

  • Integrate change management plan in alignment with project roadmap.
  • Develop leadership alignment content and facilitate alignment sessions.
  • Develop program/stakeholder content, facilitate engagement interventions, and deliver communications.
  • Manage execution of change activities working with the Delivery Team.
  • Gather feedback and track change metrics; share with Initiative Owner, and address issues.
  • Revise change activities, in alignment with plan and as required.

Role Requirements & Skills:

  • Delivery expertise and coordination across multiple initiatives/workstreams.
  • Insurance value chain knowledge.
  • Quality Assurance.
  • Proficient in the use of Project Management tools and systems, preferably SmartSheet and Clarity Broadcom.
  • Experienced in Risk & Change Management and escalation procedures in a project and portfolio context.
  • Problem-solver with the ability to identify and deliver solutions on issues.
  • Strong verbal, written and technical (Excel and PowerPoint) communication skills essential.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Must be able to work independently to draw conclusions and make recommendations to the London Market Transformation Head & key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others both internally and externally.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment. A can-do attitude.

Qualifications:

  • Project Management accreditation, e.g., Prince 2, CAPM.
  • PROSCI Change Management certification.

Experience:

  • Project delivery within an Insurance organisation, ideally within the London Market and experience of Data/Analytics projects.
  • 10+ years’ PM experience leading large scale, multi-team transformations; including some London market insurance experience.
