To achieve income and profit objectives through the delivery of efficient case underwriting, ensuring that all underwriting decisions align with internal guidelines, appetite and regulatory requirements. Working closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to achieve divisional strategy, financial plan and personal objectives.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities- Manage own cases (renewal and/or new business), writing within appetite, and underwriting authority.
- Handle referral cases for Underwriters/Apprentices with less experience, whilst adhering to individual authority level.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of underwriting decisions.
- Support the Company’s QA procedures by conducting case reviews, when required, to ensure that technical procedures and standards are followed.
- Work towards divisional retention, conversion, rate and loss ratio targets.
- Enhance Arch’s standing and presence nationally by establishing and maintaining strong personal relationships with broking partners.
- Display strong negotiation skills that aide conversion and relationships with all key brokers.
- Maintain and enhance personal knowledge of relevant technical topics.
- Work collaboratively with other parts of the organisation, most notably the UKR regional offices.
- At least 2 years' experience in underwriting
