Role of the Branch Manager is to be the driving force behind your branch’s success—leading and inspiring a team of insurance professionals to deliver exceptional service, achieve ambitious sales targets, and uphold the highest standards of compliance and operational excellence. You will oversee day‑to‑day branch operations, from guiding strategic growth initiatives to ensuring smooth and efficient service to our customers and quality underwriting. Your leadership will inspire your team to build lasting client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and provide tailored insurance solutions that truly protect and empower customers. By balancing commercial performance with a customer‑first mindset, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s reputation and market presence in your region.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Underwriting: Understand client company underwriting philosophy. Understand coverage and risk hazards. Apply Arch underwriting philosophy to risk analysis approach for technical rate determination. Apply Arch risk appetite philosophy for capacity determination.
- Marketing: Execute branch marketing plan. Understand individual client company operating goals and structure. Develop senior client relationships. Provide timely and quality service. Determine and negotiate market price, terms and conditions.
- Management: Attract and retain a superior employee base by providing leadership and strong performance management, promoting teamwork and providing a conducive office environment for all employees.
- Managing the Business: Efficient in process. Appropriate with expenses. Enhance Arch’s and your own reputation in the marketplace.
- Internal/External Relationships: Frequent contact with staff and technical support unit, to clarify and obtain information.
Role Requirements & Skills
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience at a management or senior management level.
- Preferably CII or higher.
- Experience: Currently working in the market with a good track record of leading a high performing team and have excellent contacts with commercial and corporate brokers across the region.
- Proven ability to market to senior individuals in the industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with management at a senior and exec level.
- Ability to solve complex business problems, work with talented colleagues, and have an innovative mindset.
