McMurtry Automotive is looking for a Composite Technician to join our team, working on prototype components for our cutting-edge automotive projects.
What you'll do:
- Manufacture, assemble, and repair composite components for development prototypes.
- Trim, fit, and bond composite parts using appropriate tools and equipment, building jigs where needed.
- Carry out track-damage repairs using wet lay-up and splash moulds.
- Lay up and cure R&D composite components to plybooks and technical drawings, primarily using prepreg lay-up, vacuum bagging, and oven curing.
- Follow defined processes for bond preparation, resin and adhesive mixing, release procedures, and specified oven cure cycles.
- Work closely with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and processes used.
- Help develop new techniques to improve quality and efficiency.
- Keep your workspace clean, organized, and safe, with the right tools, PPE, and consumables on hand.
