Be part of something exciting!
Are you passionate about hospitality and the Great British Pub? The Windsor Castle is recruiting a talented and skilled Shift Leader with personality and charisma, and a minimum of three years’ hospitality experience in the UK.
The Windsor Castle is a small community local in East Finchley, North London, with a big personality. We have a passion for great service, exceptional hospitality, a great British and Irish led drinks offer, and tasty, well-presented seasonal food, sourced as locally as possible from high quality suppliers.
The business is owned and run by two people. We care about our team, our customers, our community, and the environment, and we look for like-minded people when we recruit.
We’re a small, close-knit team, working together to create a great experience for everyone who walks through our doors, whilst also looking after one-another, and mucking in whenever needed.
Service can be fast paced and always requires a lot of juggling whilst dealing with people with competing demands, but there are quiet times too. If you thrive in this kind of environment, and have the ability to guide and nurture a bar team to deliver service excellence, we can offer you a place that you’ll love working in.
Responsibilities
- As Shift Leader, you will…
- Provide customers with a heartfelt and memorable experience each and every time they visit.
- Deputise for the management team and resolve any issues that arise in their absence.
- Help organise and coordinate the team during a busy shift, making sure everything runs like clockwork.
- Make sure the bar is always safe, legal, and clean, and any issues are dealt with as quickly and safely as possible.
- Have a good knowledge of our products and offer genuine recommendations to our customers.
What we’re looking for
- Someone cool, calm and collected, who manages pressure with ease. Nothing can phase you!
- An ability to think on your feet and adapt to whatever challenges arise during a busy shift.
- Minimum of three years’ hospitality experience in the UK, with an aim to building a long-term career in the industry.
- Someone approachable, friendly and engaging with superb customer and floor service skills.
- Commitment to providing great service and making sure every customer receives a warm welcome.
- A great eye for detail, making sure that every drink is poured to perfection and every plate is correct and to order.
- Someone who is able to be a role model for our team, with a positive can-do attitude, whatever the task.
- Has the ability to skilfully liaise with a strong kitchen team.
- Solid communication and organisational skills.
- Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get stuff done.
- A real passion for food and drink, and entrepreneurial flare would be added bonuses for this role.
We offer
- Sensible weekly hours.
- Paid breaks.
- Free meals on shift.
- Training and upskilling.
- Discounts on food and drink.
- NEST pension.
- A share of tips and service charge.
- Fun and friendly environment.
