We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our IT team in an office-based role. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong expertise in Fortinet/FortiGate technologies, alongside solid experience with Cisco networking and VMware vCenter environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support network infrastructure with a focus on FortiGate firewalls
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet security solutions (firewalls, VPNs, policies, and security profiles)
- Support and maintain Cisco switching and routing infrastructure
- Manage and support virtualised environments using VMware vCenter
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security, resolving incidents and problems as required
- Work closely with internal teams to support business and operational requirements
- Maintain accurate network documentation and configurations
- Participate in planned upgrades, changes, and continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet / FortiGate (must-have)
- Proven experience supporting Cisco switches and routers
- Experience working with VMware vCenter and virtualised environments
- Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and network security principles
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
Desirable Skills
- Fortinet or Cisco certifications (e.g. NSE, CCNA/CCNP)
- Experience with high-availability and resilient network designs
- Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools
