McM are recruiting on behalf of a leading regional civil engineering and infrastructure contractor for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of projects across the North East. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work across highways, infrastructure, utilities, public realm and civil engineering projects. The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the commercial performance of projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Administering and managing NEC contracts
  • Preparing valuations, forecasts and cost reports
  • Managing subcontract procurement and subcontract accounts
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Producing accurate financial reporting for senior management
  • Supporting operational teams to maximise project performance
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities
  • Strong understanding of NEC forms of contract
  • Experience managing projects from inception through to completion
  • Excellent commercial awareness and cost management capability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Full UK driving licence
