We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager / Senior Site Manager to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major AMP8 wastewater scheme in Liverpool. The initial project is a technically challenging Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) scheme involving significant reinforced concrete works. We are particularly interested in speaking with Site Managers who have previous experience delivering projects within the United Utilities environment and are comfortable managing multidisciplinary site operations. This is a particularly exciting time to join a wider Group that is experiencing significant growth across multiple areas of infrastructure and construction. With an expanding project portfolio, continued investment in its people and ambitious plans for the years ahead, the business is creating genuine opportunities for individuals to take on greater responsibility and progress as the Group continues to scale. Key Responsibilities * Take day-to-day responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of works on site. * Manage site teams, subcontractors and multiple disciplines to ensure works remain on programme. * Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, plant and equipment requirements. * Manage individual work activities and task durations against the project programme. * Monitor progress, identify potential delays and provide accurate programme and progress reporting. * Ensure RAMS are understood, communicated and fully implemented across site activities. * Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance. * Ensure site operatives are working safely and using the correct PPE. * Record and report near misses, incidents, accidents and changing site conditions. * Maintain accurate site records and provide regular updates to the Framework / Project Manager. * Inspect completed works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and current industry standards. * Maintain strong relationships with the client, subcontractors and wider project stakeholders. * Proactively identify and resolve site issues to maintain safe and efficient project delivery. The successful candidate will ideally have: * Previous Site Manager or Senior Site Manager experience within the water / wastewater sector. * Strong experience delivering WWTW projects. * Previous experience working on United Utilities projects or frameworks. * Good technical understanding of reinforced concrete works. * Experience involving shaft sinking / deep structures would be highly advantageous. * Strong knowledge of site programming, resource management and construction sequencing. * A strong HSQE mindset with the confidence to maintain high standards across site. * Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams. * Strong communication, organisation and client-facing skills. * Relevant site management qualifications and certifications.
