About the role
MCM Alarms is an independent security company with a team of seven and over 16 years of experience. We install, service and maintain intruder alarm, CCTV, access control, fire alarm and automatic gate systems for commercial and domestic customers across Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. We're growing, and we need an experienced engineer to join us.
What you'll be doing
- Installing, servicing and maintaining intruder alarms for commercial and domestic customers
- Installing, commissioning and maintaining CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems
- Carrying out scheduled maintenance visits, responding to call-outs, and diagnosing and fixing faults quickly
- Testing and handing over new systems, and showing customers how to use them
- Supporting work on automatic gates, a more mechanical, specialist part of the business
- Advising customers on system health, upgrades and repairs
- Keeping accurate job records and working closely with the office team
- Arriving on site from 8:30am
What you'll bring
- Experience installing and servicing intruder alarms (for example Texecom, Orisec, Galaxy or Eaton)
- Around 5 years' experience in the security systems industry
- A full UK driving licence
- A home address in an NN or MK postcode, so you can get to site easily
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Willingness to complete a DBS check and full security vetting (BS 7858)
It would help if you also have experience with CCTV (such as Hikvision, Dahua or Hanwha), access control (such as Paxton or Salto) or fire alarms (such as Kentec, C-TEC or Advanced). If you don't have all of these, we'll train you. Electric gate experience is a bonus.
