What you will be doing
The Logistics Manager is to support the Construction Team in the collation of the forecasted vehicle histogram, development of the project’s logistics strategy and production of associated documentation. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the projects vehicle deliveries utilising delivery management software.
- Assist the Project Management Team in formulating and implementing the project logistic plan.
- Ensure deliveries to the project meet McL&H requirements and act as the primary arbitrator between sub-contractor’s vehicle booking priorities.
- Ensure compliance with the CLOCS standard and maintain relevant documentation.
- Build a new team and develop associates within the logistical team.
- Develop, manage and amend risk assessments and method statements for the logistical element of works.
- Collate project vehicle delivery statistics and manage variances.
- Ensure compliance with relevant vehicle monitoring systems.
- Respond to queries raised by the McL&H Team.
- Support the logistics team in hiring/purchasing materials.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of plant, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinate the distribution of materials across the project site.
- Attend site meetings as required.
- Prepare monthly and periodic reports for stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Essential: CSCS Card
- Desirable: First Aid at Work, Professional qualification, SMSTS, Appointed Person or Crane Supervisor experience
Experience
- Extensive experience within the construction industry.
- Detailed experience of logistical & construction operations on major projects.
- Excellent presentation & organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time.
- Excellent analytic skills.
- Experience in the utilisation of complex systems on major projects such as document control.
