McLaughlin & Harvey are one of the leading Building and Civil Engineering Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Building Services Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will be working on an exciting project worth £55 million.

Responsibilities

  1. The successful candidate will be experienced in managing design, delivery, and commissioning of Building services in a construction environment.
  2. Working with pre-construction teams to ensure client requirements are met and proposals reflect their needs and the contract.
  3. Ensuring all Building services needs are met, reflected in the building and fabric with information delivered in good time.
  4. Managing the Design, Drawings, and approvals process in line with the programme.
  5. Ensuring projects comply with building regulations, planning conditions, specifications, and any third-party accreditations.
  6. Supporting Planning teams in ensuring building services are fully integrated into the delivery programme and execution plans.
  7. Establishing and managing quality systems to ensure high standards and specifications are met.
  8. Monitoring progress against targets and assisting the project management team in ensuring specialist contractors resource and approach the project as needed.
  9. Supporting the quantity surveying and commercial teams with the review of changes to contracts and valuations of the work.
  10. Managing the commissioning process and training to ensure all systems operate as designed, design and validation teams are satisfied, and building users are trained in operation.
  11. Attending client progress and technical meetings.
  12. Chairing specialist design, progress, and commissioning meetings.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should have as a minimum one of the following or equivalent:

  1. Technically Qualified in a Mechanical or Electrical Trade within a Consultancy, Main Contractor, or Sub Contractor Management background.
  2. BTEC in Building Services Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance Engineering.
  3. Electrical or Mechanical Building Services to HNC / HND level.
  4. Degree in Building Services Engineering.
