(Check out our full list of benefits here: )What you will be doing Design, develop and maintain Power BI semantic models, including star schemas, relationships, calculated measures and DAX. Develop clear, intuitive and well-organised Power BI reports and dashboards, as well as maintaining and improving existing reporting solutions. Write, maintain and optimise SQL used for data preparation, transformation and reporting within the data warehouse. Work with colleagues across the business to gather and understand reporting and analytical requirements and translate these into appropriate technical solutions. Present and explain data, reports and analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues. Test reports and data solutions thoroughly, validating results against source systems before release. Investigate and resolve data quality, reporting and performance issues. Maintain appropriate documentation for BI solutions, data models and reporting processes. Maintain development work under source control and follow appropriate review and deployment processes before changes are released into production. Ensure sensitive business, HR and personal data is handled securely and in accordance with company policies and UK GDPR requirements. Contribute to future development projects aimed at improving the organisation's data, analysis and reporting capabilities. Provide an appropriate level of technical support for the company's in-house developed web applications, ensuring support requests are investigated and resolved within agreed service levels. Work collaboratively with other members of the IT and development teams.What We’re Looking For Essential Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, including data modelling, Power Query and report development. Good working knowledge of DAX, including an understanding of measures, filter context and relationships. Good SQL development skills, including joins, aggregations, and window functions. Good understanding of dimensional modelling, including facts, dimensions and star-schema design. Experience working with relational databases and data warehouse environments. Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to validating the accuracy and consistency of data. Ability to investigate discrepancies between reports and underlying source data. Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and data-related concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues. Ability to gather business requirements and translate business problems into clearly defined technical requirements and outcomes. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently using own initiative.Desirable Microsoft Fabric, including Data Warehouse, Lakehouse and Data Pipelines. Git and Azure DevOps, or equivalent source-control and pull-request workflows. Power BI Project (PBIP) format. Tabular Editor. Power BI Row-Level Security (RLS). Power BI deployment pipelines and controlled deployment processes. Power BI performance analysis and optimisation using tools such as DAX Studio. Experience with SSIS or other ETL/data integration technologies. Experience supporting or integrating BI solutions with business applications. Relevant Microsoft certification, such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) or DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer).
