What you will be doing

The Logistics Manager is to support the Construction Team in the collation of the forecasted vehicle histogram, development of the project’s logistics strategy and production of associated documentation. The Logistics Manager is to support the Construction Team in the day to day running and coordination of its activities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the projects vehicle deliveries utilising delivery management software.
  • Assist the Project Management Team in formulating and implementing the project logistic plan.
  • Ensure deliveries to the project meet McL&H requirements and act as the primary arbitrator between sub-contractor’s vehicle booking priorities.
  • Ensure that the project’s deliveries are compliant with the CLOCS standard and that all relevant documentation is in place.
  • Ability to build a new team and develop associates within the logistical team.
  • Develop, manage and amend risk assessments and method statements for the logistical element of works.
  • Collate the project’s vehicle delivery statistics, analyse these against forecasted numbers and manage variances.
  • Ensure the project’s compliance with the relevant vehicle monitoring systems.
  • Respond to and address queries raised by the McL&H Team.
  • Collate the project’s asset register and support the logistics team in the hiring/purchasing of materials.
  • Support the logistics team members in the production of documentation and reports.
  • Receive, unload, and store plant, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of plant, materials, and equipment and record goods in/goods out.
  • Coordinate the distribution of materials across the project site in collaboration with the construction team.
  • Attend site meetings, both internal and external, as required.
  • Prepare monthly and periodic reports for internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • Essential: CSCS Card
  • Desirable: First Aid at Work, Professional qualification, SMSTS, Appointed Person or Crane Supervisor experience

Experience

  • Extensive experience within the construction industry.
  • Detailed experience of logistical & construction operations on major construction projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation & organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time.
  • Have excellent analytic skills.
  • Experience in the utilisation of complex systems on major projects such as document control.
