Purpose

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Claims Technician to join our London office. This is a home‑based role reporting to a Senior Claims Technician and our Latent Defects Lead. You will be an active member of the support function within the Latent Defects team, providing effective support to Adjusters and aiding the efficiency and productivity in handling latent defect property claims.

Key Accountabilities

  • Administration of new claims including receiving instruction, issuing acknowledgements, setting up files, and undertaking risk screening and triaging.
  • Working closely with Adjusters to assist with investigation and validation enquiries.
  • Controlling the lifecycle of the files to drive diary management and support the proactive management of claims from set‑up to conclusion.
  • Overseeing Adjuster caseloads during periods of leave.
  • Liaising with insured parties, insurers, and other stakeholders to ensure optimum customer service and acting as a point of contact where needed.
  • Aiding the production of technical reports for Adjusters in compliance with professional standards and internal guidelines, within agreed timescales.
  • Ensuring time reporting and billing complies with internal standards and systems.
  • Developing and running management information for clients and internal use, including performance measurement and data integrity reports.
  • Ensuring company standards are met in all technical and operational policies and procedures, including data protection and information security.
  • Providing account management support when required.
  • Handling incoming telephone calls and resolving queries.
  • Invoicing.
  • Other ad‑hoc work as required.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Previous claims handling experience, including caseload management.
  • Either CILA/CII qualified or actively pursuing qualification.
  • Organised, self‑managing, with a methodical, accurate, and analytical approach to work, and a pride in output quality.
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate clearly, concisely, and structurally.
  • Strong relationship‑management skills, capable of building good working relationships with team members, colleagues, and third parties.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, able to juggle multiple priorities and conflicting demands.
  • Thrives in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Driven to meet and exceed targets.
  • Flexible regarding travel, which may be required as and when.
