The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Property – South, you will be responsible for working with adjusters and technicians to deliver outstanding service to customers, whilst also focussing on achieving indemnity spend savings for our clients. You will provide additional assistance to our adjusters and technicians in handling alternative accommodation claims effectively and assist with any management information (MI) requests.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with a wide range of accommodation providers and others to identify the most suitable and cost-effective options for each claim.
- Collaborating with internal teams to design and implement a standardised, scalable approach to alternative accommodation handling.
- Supporting the Major Loss team with large-scale placement of residents into alternative accommodation following significant incidents, and managing these arrangements over time.
- Acting as a key point of contact for insurers in relation to accommodation placements, providing case-by-case updates and insights.
- Participating in regular review meetings with insurers to monitor and progress outstanding accommodation claims.
- Producing detailed management information (MI) reports for both internal stakeholders and clients.
- Continuously reviewing live claims to ensure accommodation arrangements remain appropriate, cost-effective, and aligned with policy coverage.
- Assisting adjusters with complex or high-profile cases, offering creative and pragmatic solutions.
- Supporting McLarens’ business development efforts by contributing knowledge and insights on alternative accommodation strategy and market trends.
About You – Knowledge And Experience
- A comprehensive understanding of both short-term and long-term accommodation markets. Pre-existing relationships with accommodation providers are highly advantageous.
- A solid grasp of insurance policy coverage relating to alternative accommodation, including common limitations and exclusions.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service, working efficiently within service level agreements and client expectations.
- Competence with Excel and confidence in navigating a range of internal systems and databases.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
