The Body Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading engineering activities within the Body Systems domain, leading the definition, specification, coordination, development and integration of features that meet quality, timing and performance targets across vehicle programmes.Working as part of a wider cross-functional team, the senior engineer will lead the end-to-end feature delivery by helping define feature requirements, coordinate system-level activities, manage technical artefacts and support integration through the engineering lifecycle. The role requires strong collaboration across Systems Engineering, Attribute, Commodity Engineering, Validation, Product and programme teams, with a proactive approach to learning, delivery and continuous improvement.What You'll Do• Feature Design Lead feature design activities, including eliciting and documenting Use Cases, User Stories and other feature artefacts. Apply systems engineering tools and methods, including SysML and MBSE, to improve feature design and produce concise, complete documentation.• Feature Delivery Lead the end-to-end delivery of Body Systems features as part of the Systems Engineering team, coordinating activities across gateways and contributing to the successful delivery of complete customer-facing functions.• Requirements Ownership Lead the definition, authoring and maintenance of feature requirements, system requirements and supporting technical artefacts, ensuring clear traceability, quality and alignment across stakeholders.• System Coordination & Integration Work across system, software, hardware, validation and attribute teams to support decomposition, interface definition, issue resolution and integration of Body Systems features through the development lifecycle.• Architecture, Network and Diagnosis Support the team in architectural discussions and interface alignment for Body ECUs and components. Define and agree the message map (communication matrix for Body components) with suppliers and internal stakeholders as well as define and supporting the Diagnosis in component and feature level .• Lifecycle & Gateway Delivery Contribute to engineering activities across the V-cycle and programme gateways, supporting planning, maturity tracking, readiness reviews and closure of actions required to progress feature delivery.• Verification, Validation & Issue Management Support verification planning, test definition, results review and technical issue investigation to help demonstrate that delivered system behaviour meets requirements and intended vehicle performance.• Tools, Process & Continuous Improvement Apply established systems engineering methods, processes and tools consistently, including support for structured ticket and artefact management, while contributing ideas that improve team effectiveness and delivery quality.• Homologation and Standards Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards (FMVSS, UNECE, ISO 26262 where applicable)What You'll Bring• Practical experience in systems engineering within automotive or a similarly complex engineering environment, with experience in Body Systems being prefered, with exposure to feature delivery, structured requirements development and cross-functional engineering coordination.• Knowledge in the State of art for Systems Engineering, be familiar with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and SysML.• Technical understanding of vehicle systems, with particular interest or experience in Body Systems and an appreciation of how customer-facing features are defined, decomposed, integrated and validated across contributing systems.• Awareness of the cross-domain interactions that influence Body Systems performance, such as closures, glazing, latching, access systems, interior mechanisms, occupant interfaces, connectivity and their integration with electrical, software and vehicle network systems.• Experience working with systems engineering artefacts such as feature requirements, system requirements, interface definitions, validation criteria or traceability records in a structured development environment.• Able to work effectively across multiple stakeholders, communicate clearly, and support delivery through structured problem solving, technical coordination and disciplined follow-through.• Degree-qualified, 2:1 or above, in engineering (or equivalent) with a sound understanding of systems engineering principles, engineering processes and the use of relevant tools and methods.What We'll Do for YouWe offer a wide – ranging benefits package, which includes:* Structured career development framework* 25 days’ holiday, plus bank holiday.
