The role is accountable for ensuring parts are preserved, protected, presented and delivered efficiently from warehouse through to production line, enabling safe handling, efficient manufacturing, operational stability and successful new model launch readiness.**Why This Role Matters:**This is a high-impact role at the centre of Logistics Engineering and Manufacturing support, working cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities, Health and Safety and operational logistics teams. The successful candidate will shape future-state internal material flow, delivery media, lineside presentation standards and engineered logistics solutions within a fast-paced, premium automotive environment. What You'll DoInternal Logistics Process Design and Material Flow:· Lead the design and optimisation of internal logistics processes from warehouse through to lineside, ensuring safe, efficient and repeatable part flow into production.· Define and implement lineside feed strategies that support manufacturing requirements, reduce handling touches, minimise lineside footprint and improve part presentation for operators.· Define and implement kitting strategies, sequencing principles and replenishment processes that support build requirements, minimise operator disruption and enable controlled material presentation at the point of use.· Adapt logistics processes, kitting methods, delivery frequencies and lineside presentation standards in response to production line changes, model mix, takt requirements, engineering changes and operational constraints.· Design, specify and implement appropriate delivery media, stillages, trolleys, dollies, carts and point-of-use presentation solutions to protect parts and support efficient production processes.· Ensure all internal delivery media and logistics processes maintain part protection, ergonomic handling, quality standards and safe movement from multiple warehouses to the production line, using appropriate formats such as kanban, kitting and sequenced delivery.· Establish part preservation standards across internal logistics processes, ensuring delivery media, kitting methods, handling routes and storage points prevent damage, contamination, misplacement and unnecessary exposure.· Develop and implement standard operating procedures, layouts, process flows and work instructions that improve process control, productivity, safety and repeatability across internal logistics operations.· Apply lean manufacturing and logistics engineering principles to remove waste, optimise flow, improve productivity and support a practical “one touch logistics” approach where feasible.· Work with Packaging, Warehouse and Material Planning teams to ensure inbound packaging solutions transition effectively into internal delivery media and lineside presentation requirements.Logistics Engineering, Projects and Launch Readiness:· Lead logistics engineering projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring delivery against agreed timing, cost, quality, safety and operational performance targets.· Drive Logistics launch readiness for new vehicle programmes, including internal process design, delivery media readiness, lineside layouts, part presentation, risk mitigation and production support.· Ensure kitting, sequencing and lineside delivery processes are designed and validated ahead of launch or production change points, with clear contingency plans to protect build continuity.· Develop logistics concepts, process maps, layouts, capacity assumptions and implementation plans to support new model introductions, engineering changes and operational transformation activity.· Track and report project progress, risks, issues, benefits, KPI performance and launch readiness status to stakeholders and senior management.Stakeholder Collaboration and Governance:· Build strong working relationships with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities, Health and Safety, Production Control, Warehouse Operations and 3PL partners to ensure logistics engineering solutions are aligned to business and production requirements.· Establish clear governance for internal logistics process reviews, delivery media decisions, layout changes and stakeholder sign-off, ensuring requirements are understood, risks are resolved and agreed standards are implemented consistently.· Facilitate cross-functional discussions to balance manufacturing efficiency, part protection, ergonomics, safety, cost, space, quality and launch timing when defining new or revised logistics solutions.· Provide clear communication, escalation and progress updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring logistics engineering decisions are visible, timely and effectively embedded into operational plans.Data, Performance and Benefits Delivery:· Collect, analyse and interpret operational data to identify trends, constraints and opportunities across internal material flow, delivery routes, lineside presentation, space utilisation and logistics process performance.· Translate data insights into practical engineering solutions, quantified benefits and clear recommendations for operational and senior leadership teams.Leadership, Capability and Culture:· Coach, train and mentor logistics, warehouse and production support teams in standardised material flow, safe handling, delivery media use and logistics engineering principles.· Build a proactive improvement culture that encourages ownership, collaboration, practical innovation and sustained problem resolution across internal logistics operations.· Lead workshops, process reviews and training sessions to strengthen team capability and embed improved logistics processes.Quality, Compliance and Operational Control:· Ensure internal logistics processes and delivery media comply with safety requirements, quality standards, company procedures and relevant industry expectations.· Define and maintain part preservation controls for internal movement, kitting, sequencing, storage and lineside presentation, ensuring quality risks are identified and mitigated before implementation.· Implement process controls that protect product integrity, improve operational discipline and reduce quality, delivery, handling and ergonomic risk.Resource, Equipment and Supplier Management:· Optimise the use of people, equipment, space, delivery routes and logistics assets to improve internal material flow and lineside delivery performance.· Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to specify, procure, trial and implement delivery media, handling equipment and engineered logistics solutions.Performance Monitoring:· Develop and track key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of logistics engineering solutions and internal material flow improvements.· Provide regular updates to senior management on launch readiness, operational performance, improvement progress and delivered benefits. What You'll BringEducation:· Degree-level education, or equivalent relevant experience, in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a related discipline.Experience:· Minimum of five years’ experience in logistics engineering, internal material flow, manufacturing logistics, warehouse operations or production support within an automotive or manufacturing environment.· Experience designing and implementing internal logistics processes, delivery media, lineside layouts, material flow routes and point-of-use presentation solutions.· Experience defining kitting strategies, sequencing processes, replenishment methods and lineside presentation standards in response to production requirements and line changes.· Proven track record of supporting new model launches, engineering changes or operational transformation activity through effective logistics engineering solutions.· Proven track record of leading successful process improvement initiatives and delivering measurable operational benefits.· Previous experience leading teams, projects or cross-functional improvement activity.Skills:· Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, logistics engineering and material flow principles; Six Sigma certification would be advantageous.· Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.· Confident using data analysis tools to interpret performance trends, identify constraints and support decision-making.· Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a complex manufacturing and logistics environment.· Effective leadership, coaching and team-building capability.· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.· Familiarity with warehouse management systems, enterprise resource planning software and logistics layout or process mapping tools.· Strong Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. What
