The MPC Facilities and Maintenance Manager will be expected to:

  • Lead by example, working within own functional area as well as cross functionally.
  • Ensure the MPC Facility is kept fully compliant and Production build equipment is maintained in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Lead the Maintenance team to drive improvement in the business areas of Project Management, Safety, Quality, Cost Management, People Development and Product Delivery.
  • Lead the MPC Maintenance Team and work with MMS Process Techs in ensuring Breakdowns, MTTA, MTTR, TPM/PPM & Condition Based Monitoring details are logged and reported weekly.
  • Work with McLaren Managed Services to ensure all KPI’s are met.
  • Ensure all Critical spares are kept in alignment with the required compliance.
  • Ensure all equipment contingency is maintained and in place for containment.
  • Work with McLaren Managed Services on all Facility related works/concerns.
  • Ensure internal and external audits are attended and any non-conformance requirements are actioned.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and control operational budgets to support the Production Facility.
  • Support the smooth integration of new facilities equipment and product to support Production.
  • Support the wider business functions with the delivery of all program aspects from inception to series production and beyond.
  • Lead and develop the annual Planned Shutdown activities for all MPC Maintenance and combined projects.

Health and Safety

  • Work with the Head of Health and Safety and wider business functions to ensure safe working practices are implemented and upheld.
  • Work with the Head of Health and Safety and wider business functions to ensure all staff maintain and use appropriate PPE.
  • Support in the investigation of near misses and accidents.
  • Lead the Maintenance Team and support the wider business functions in ensuring cost effective productive maintenance schedules are identified and adhered to.
  • Work with the Heads of McLaren Services on ensuring all Maintenance and project deliverables are met in accordance with the SLA.
  • Work with H&S on LEV, LOLER & PUWER requirements that are monitored and met.

Quality

  • Work with the Head of Total Quality Management ensuring all audit and ITAF legislation requirements are met with supporting information.
  • Lead the Maintenance Team in problem solving initiatives.
  • Lead the Maintenance Team to implement issue containment for continuous improvement initiatives working with McLaren Services Team.
  • Ensure all QCR’s are supported and completed.

Cost

  • Understand and control the cost drivers for your team.
  • Initiate cost control and cost improvement activities.
  • Closely monitor and control the workplace of your team to minimise overtime requirements.
  • Ensure all required equipment is logged for asset control and insurance checks throughout the year.

Managing People

  • Develop immediate team capability through skills gap identification, understanding both individual and team development needs and skills gap closure plan in line with business objectives.
  • Lead the Maintenance Team in the setting of clear objectives and monitor performance to ensure work is delivered on time and to the required standard.
  • Assist in the training of others.
  • Act as a mentor to new/trainee staff.
  • Care for Team Members, work with the Managers and HR to ensure ‘wellbeing’ of staff.
  • Support in addressing performance problems.
  • Ensure all absence is correctly monitored and addressed in line with organisational practices.
  • Lead the Maintenance Team in ensuring behaviour and conduct is in line with brand expectations both on and off site.
  • Ensure the work area is clean, tidy, and orderly always in line with brand expectations.
  • Carry out any other tasks required by business needs.

What You'll Bring:

  • Project Management skills from small building fit out to large civils projects (RIBA).
  • Experience in reviewing RAMS and documentation records.
  • Value added experience with the specification and procurement of major assembly equipment.
  • Value added experience in the field of high-performance vehicle manufacturing.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate a methodical approach towards problem solving.
