Working within the site leadership team of the McLaren Composites Technology Centre’s based in Sheffield/Rotherham, reporting to the Plant Director. The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that all current and future buildings, grounds, and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role oversees facilities expansion planning, compliance, managing contractors, budgets, and day-to-day facilities related statutory compliance activities, including Legionella control, fire safety systems, insurance inspections and building compliance requirements. Maintaining accurate compliance records, certification and audit documentation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in facilities management within a manufacturing, construction or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of relevant UK regulations (PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, DSEAR).
  • Technical knowledge of utilities, plant systems, and industrial infrastructure.
  • Experience in expansion planning, capacity projects, or new facility setup and delivery.
  • Skilled in contractor management, budgeting, and CAFM systems.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience of managing major capital investment projects.
  • Effective communicator with strong problem‐solving and organisational skills.
  • Desirable: IWFM Level 4+ or equivalent, experience with ISO 45001/14001, and lean principles.
